In December 2020, David Bond, Corinne Ferguson, and Chris Wright were discussing how there was no single platform that offered all the best horror movies and shows in one place. They talked about how it would be great to have a programmed TV channel dedicated entirely to the horror genre, where people could watch their favourite movies and shows, discover new titles, and discuss their favourite scary moments with other horror enthusiasts. It was also very important that this channel was accessible to every horror fan around the world regardless of their economic situation, and would showcase diverse talent. Hence, the idea was born and they went to work to create NYX - a unique FREE entertainment experience for all horror fans worldwide based on expertly curated content that would also showcase diverse talent. On November 14, 2022, they launched NYX UK with NYX Canada to follow in June 2023 and the intention to keep launching new territories every year.
